She married GEORGE NASALROAD 12 Mar 1822 in Pendleton, Virginia, son of FREDERICK NESSELRODT and ELIZABETH VOLLMER/FULLMER. He was born Abt. 1793 in VA, and died Abt. 1852 in Clinton, Vermillion, IN.

Mrs. Phebe Nasalroad

One Hundred and One Years Old.

Mrs. Phebe Nasalroad, whose death was chronicled in these columns last week, was probably the oldest person at the time of her death to be found in eastern Kansas. Phebe Coughman was born within seven miles of Petersborough, Virginia, in January 1794, and was married to George Nasalroad in 1813. She was the last of thirteen children, the last of her family but herself having died thirteen years ago. Mrs. Nasalroad was the mother of eleven children and there are thirty-four grandchildren and forty-five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Four of her sons served in the Union Army and all came out of the conflict without being wounded. Her oldest son if alive would be 81 years old. Her husband has been dead 43 years and she never married again. She made her burial shroud during the war of the rebellion. The deceased was quite strong for her age until a few years ago, but was a great sufferer from a cancer on her nose during the latter years of her life, but retained her faculties remarkably well for a person of her infirmities. She was a consistent church member for over sixty years. Five generations are represented by Mrs. Nasalroad and her descendants.
