John was married three times, all three wifes passed away at a very young age. The first wife name unknown yet had one child named Sallie. This wife died of Typhoid Fever. Curtis worked on a farm, Willie (Sis) & Lucille went to school, and Mae lived with "Miss Essie Fussell" (a family friend) until she was old enough to go to school with her sisters.
